We are situated on the outskirts of the village of Little Melton with its Historic Church and local pub. The Village Inn in Little Melton serves an excellent carvery and speciality pizzas. The Church dates back to the 14th century and has some original and unusual medieval wall paintings. For finer dining The King’s Head in Bawburgh is 5 mins by car a 30 minute walk. This old Coaching Inn dates back to the 16th century. and has a wonderful fire warming its beamed interior. It serves a selection of delicious food in its restaurant and bar. There is a choice of other local restaurants /pubs and there is a Waitrose and Tesco express 5-10 mins by car.

The Cathedral City of Norwich is 5 miles away and the Park and Ride is 5 minutes by car. Taxi services are available from Norwich for approx. £11. It has many museums and historic buildings to visit and a wander through the old Tudor streets, including Elm Hill and Tombland ( as made famous by CJ Sansom ) is a delight.
The Historic Market Town of Wymondham is 5 miles away where you can get a train to Cambridge or London. Cambridge is just over an hour and London approx. 2 hrs. Wymondham is a fascinating old Market Town to visit with an Abbey and an ancient pub, The Green Dragon and other buildings of historic interest.
We are 5 minutes car journey from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Norwich Research Park, John Innes Centre , University of East Anglia and the famous Sainsbury Centre for visual Arts. The Sainsbury Centre has a permanent wonderful free exhibiton of treasures collected by the Sainsbury family and is well worth a visit. It also has regular exhibitons which are one off. The building was designed by Norman Foster and has a fine collection of sculptures by Henry Moore.
The beautiful North Norfolk Coast and Suffolk coast are 40-60 minutes by car. It is possible to view seals on the beach at Horsey where there is huge colony. Seals can also be seen by boat from Blakeney point. The North Norfolk coast offers a wealth of opportunities for the keen bird watcher. Alternatively the beautiful town of Southwold with its famous Adnams Brewery is approximately an hour by Car. Snape Maltings is a possibility with its famous Musical connections and concerts and founded by Benjamin Brittain.
The Norfolk Broads are 30 mins by car where you can hire a day boat to explore the unique and atmospheric waterways. You may even be lucky to watch the reed cutter performing his ancient craft. You will pass many of the old windmills on the waterways.
Within 5 mins of our home there is a 18 hole Golf Course-Bawburgh. There is also a 9 hole course and a driving range. There are a great number of other courses nearby.
